Three common arrangements

One two-hour visit a week. One possible routine. A fixed afternoon, the same companion, and a written update to the family afterwards.

Two two-hour visits a week. One at home and one out, or two at home.

Three two-hour visits a week. Something on most days, often where family live far away.

Monthly figures are weekly cost times 52, divided by 12. Invoices are for the visits actually made.
The short version
- Invoiced weekly in arrears, by direct debit or card. You pay for visits that have already happened.
- No deposit and no minimum term. Stop whenever it stops being useful.
- One week's notice from either side to end regular visits.
- The same companion for every regular visit, with a named backup introduced within the first month. The joint backup-introduction visit is charged as one visit. There is no charge where no known companion is available.
- Cancelling a visit is free with more than 24 hours' notice. Inside 24 hours the visit is charged, except for a hospital admission, illness or a family emergency, which never are.
- One-off visits are welcome and cost exactly the same as regular ones.
- The price is the companion's time. Outings add mileage in a companion's car or the taxi fare, at cost. Admissions, meals and shopping are the client's own, agreed in advance and receipted. Your companion's own bus fare or coffee is on us.
- Nothing is charged before the free meet-and-greet.
Help with paying for visits
Visits can be paid for privately. An eligible recipient may use Attendance Allowance, a weekly benefit for people over State Pension age that is not means-tested and can be spent however the person chooses. The lower rate covers a weekly two-hour visit with money to spare. Some people with a direct payment from their council spend part of it on company.

What could regular visits cost?
Choose the time that suits your routine. A short visit, an afternoon out, a full day or overnight company can involve different arrangements. We agree the hours and full price with you before you book.

Planning an outing
Travel in the companion’s car is 45p per mile. For example, eight miles adds £3.60. We agree parking, tickets, meals and other outing costs with you beforehand.
