Get the right support for the whole day.
Someone may want company as well as help with personal care. Talk through what is needed, so each part of the day has the right support.
Start with an ordinary day
Think about getting up, meals, getting out and settling in for the night. What can the person do independently? What do they want company for? Where do they need someone to help with a task?
Those questions make it easier to describe the support wanted. They also help distinguish company and everyday practical help from personal care such as washing, dressing or using the toilet.
Where Whitegreen fits
We provide companionship and light practical support. That can mean time at home, shopping, a simple meal together or someone to accompany an outing. Visits can be arranged around an existing care package.
Whitegreen does not provide personal care, nursing or clinical treatment. Those needs belong with the appropriate provider. We can help you explore a registered care provider while discussing the companionship you want alongside it.
Agree who does what
Tell us about the help needed during the proposed visit, including an outing or a break for a family carer. We discuss responsibilities and contact arrangements before visits begin, so company is planned around the care required.
Questions for a care provider
Ask about the actual tasks needed, times of day, visit length, regular staff and cover. Ask for the full price and how changes to needs are reviewed. Check the registration and inspection information for the service you intend to use.
Talk it through
You can contact us while you are working out the arrangement. Tell us what the person wants and which parts of the day need support. We will explain where companionship fits and help you consider the next step.
What would you like company for?
Tell us what you have in mind. We’ll talk through the visits and introduce a companion for a free meet-and-greet.
