Someone to share your week in Wigan.
One-to-one companionship for adults in Wigan. Company at home, practical help and a familiar person for the places you want to go.

What would you like to do together?
A conversation at home, a trip to the shops, an appointment or getting back to a group. We start with what you want company for and plan a visit around it. You can contact us yourself or help someone close to you get started.
Companionship is for adults of different ages. A younger person who wants company at the gym and an older person who misses going to the market may want different visits, but both deserve time shaped around their own interests.
Plan from your front door
Tell us where the visit would begin and where you want to go. We agree the journey, time at the activity and return, including access and any extra costs. For company at home, tell us what you enjoy and what practical help you would like.
We welcome enquiries from Leigh, Standish and across Wigan. Give us your full postcode so we can confirm the arrangements for your address.
Keep something useful going
You may want regular company, support to attend a community activity or continuity after a short programme ends. We can discuss the routine you want and how visits fit alongside any other support. Read about continuing one-to-one support.
Plan from home to the activity and back
Wigan Council's Our Town Directory brings together community support and things to do across the borough. Use it to look for an interest, not merely an activity marked for older people. Someone who enjoys local history may prefer a history group to an event selected only by age.
For an enquiry in Leigh, Standish, Wigan or another local area, the starting postcode and chosen destination matter more than the borough label. Include time to get ready, any walking between the vehicle and venue, and a comfortable return. Do not squeeze a long activity into a shorter visit because the headline price looks convenient.
If the first step feels daunting, discuss a short introduction or company at home before attempting a full session. Contact the organiser to confirm current booking arrangements; a directory entry is an invitation to check, not a reserved place.
Mesnes Park: choose the part of the visit that appeals
Wigan Council lists formal gardens, the bandstand, water features and the pavilion café at Mesnes Park. It also describes steps leading to the pavilion. That is a reason to check the route and access needed rather than assuming “a park and a café” means an easy journey for every person. Read the council's Mesnes Park information.
Ask whether the person is interested in the gardens, somewhere to sit or refreshments. Agree that small purpose first, then plan the route, facilities and return time. An event at the bandstand needs its own current timetable check; a general listing does not mean a performance will be taking place during a visit.
If the person would enjoy a different activity, the Our Town Directory is a broader starting point. Use the visit budget for something they want, even when that is a conversation or a familiar shop rather than a local attraction.

Meet first, then agree the visits
We introduce a companion for a free meet-and-greet. Talk about what you enjoy, ask questions and decide how you get on. We agree the visit hours and price before paid visits begin. You have the same named companion, a named backup introduced within the first month and a written note after every visit.
With your agreement, updates can keep a relative or another contact informed. You can also manage the arrangement yourself.
The time and cost
Weekday visits are £28 an hour; evenings and weekends £35. Visit length is agreed at the meet-and-greet. Overnight and full-day visits are priced individually and confirmed in writing before you commit. Evening, weekend and holiday rates differ, and outings may include transport or activity costs.
Local information for a different or additional need
If regular company is the missing part of the week, talk to Whitegreen about a visit. The independent resources below are for particular questions that a companionship booking alone may not answer.
